February Secretaries report
February 2010.
Following
the recent snow and rain , we now have frost ! Back to a traditional British
Winter ! Please be patient with last minute cancellations and disruption to
weekend arrangements . Hopefully we will be back to a normal schedule soon.
The club
will, following the recent committee meeting, now decided to revive the “Newsletter”, This will be posted to
home addresses to ensure all members will be kept up-to-date on news items etc.
Ian Wright will be preparing this and will probably be sent
out every six to eight weeks during the football season.
We would
welcome sponsors and contributions, so please feel free to contact any
committee members with ideas and contributions. [Contact details on this web site]
Recently,
we have had a few problems with the pop-up goals! These are designed to be easily unfolded and
re-folded after use. Unfortunately three of these have be broken by misuse. If
you have been kind enough to offer to help with these, please take a few
moments to check how to use the “spring action” open / close bracket.
The Ridgewaye Tournament is fast approaching, June 2010
! You can check on the tournament page
the days your team will be playing, but as always, we are always eager to
receive offers of help!
Duties , as
always…. Setting up….Cooking…Teas…Car Parking Duties…..Packing up etc
Please try
to keep a few hours to help… the tournament allows us to keep the Club
subscriptions amongst, if not, the lowest in the area.
Committee
Places, We still desperately require a registration Secretary. The duties will
require basic use of a spread sheet to record member’s details. There will be a concentration of work around
REGISTRATION DAY and then tailing off to virtually nothing by this time of
year. Anyone who could undertake this Vital Roll, Please contact any Committee Member,
details on web site.
HUB DEVELOPMENT:-
The
Council, or at least some of the Councillors, still seem obsessed to progress
the hair brain scheme that no-one wants or requires ! TWBC still seem to be oblivious to the
traffic chaos and pollution, the loss of open space and anti social behaviour,
in the town centre, such a development will cause!
The “Upside” will ,of course, be that the
councillors will be able to give up their “rent-free”, historic building, where
they hold a few meetings a week, and have a nice new shinny meeting room and
offices, the cost of which will inevitable be paid for by YOU !
