Minis

The Minis Section is Run by Ridgewaye FC for 3 Reasons:

1. To provide an opportunity for younger children to play football in a friendly, safe environment.
2. To encourage them to develop basic skills of football – running with the ball, dribbling, turning, kicking etc.
3. To identify those who would be interested in getting involved in any aspect of the Club, but particularly those who would be interested in taking on the role of team coach or manager for when the children move onto Under 7's.

Are you interested? If so, or you want to know more please speak to Andy – 07929 861394. The Club will arrange Coaching Course and CRB checks and will aim to support you in any way possible. It can be a really enjoyable and fulfilling hobby and is not “a life sentence”.

Without volunteers to take a new team on every year we will not be able to continue to provide football for all ages. So, think about it and talk to other parents, coaches and friends. I will arrange a short meeting in a few weeks (if there is enough interest) so all your questions can be answered.

Setting the Standard.

The FA Charter Standard Award recognises and rewards clubs who are making the experience
of playing the game a positive one. Created
in 2001 and open to all clubs up to non-league level, the award is given to club’s that show
they are well run and sustainable with safety and child protection paramount.

School-Club Link.

Developing partnerships between schools and Charter Standard clubs is a growing focus of
The FA. Ridgewaye has recently been selected by the Kent Football Association to be their nominated West Kent club to operate the '3 Lions' initiative in local Schools. This is being co-ordinated with 'First Class Football' and 'Sporting Chance'.
